Nicolae (Nick) Dan, studied medical science in Bucharest, Romania and graduated in 1990 with an MD degree. Once the communism regime collapsed in Romania (1989), Nick’s family dream to open a Sanitarium became possible. So began a journey of faith – to open a Christian whole-person medical care institution, where people are encoiuraged to align their lifestyle habits with the immutable laws of physiology, thus reversing chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, obesity, chronic renal diseases, depression etc. With that dream in mind, Nick went for specific training in the US. From 1991-1992 was trained in Wildwood Lifestyle Center and Hospital. From 1992-1994 he completed an MPH in Nutrition at Loma Linda University. After returning to Romania in 1994, he and his family, along with a couple of friends and fellow believers, opened Herghelia Lifestyle Center in 1996. Since that time, more than 20,000 people have been through the lifestyle program at Herghelia. Since 2002, Dr. Dan has been involved in starting other Sanitariums in Europe and beyond. In 2009 he was awarded a PhD from Targu Mures Medical University for work in the area of heart disease prevention. Since 2010 he has been teaching as an associate professor of Nutrition and Dietetics at the same University. Dr. Dan ‘s passion is to see the Sanitarium concept spreading throughout the whole earth, as a means to blend healing with teaching and preaching after the Savior’s model, and in preparation for His soon return.
